a warm spring day not far from a little village on the edge of a dark forest. to small girls were playing in a field of flowers, to young to be with out adult supervision really, they were whispering, giggling and braiding flower crowns to give to each other. non of them remembered the warning there parents had given about going to near the forest, otherwise the demons might take them. no they were to immersed in there playing to fear much. suddenly a penetrating and eerie note pierced the tranquil day, as it grow and changed into music, butterfly's in all the colours of the earth appeared around the children. The little girls laughed and danced with the little insects, when a graceful young man came walking towards them. He was playing a flute and when he got close the music changed and the butterfly's swarmed around the stranger, only to ascended. When they were high enough they exploded and glitter and flower pedals rained down, to the joy of the children. The young man lowered his flute and the pedals disappeared as if they had never been there and he smiled.

Lady Kaosu was resting soundly in a tree not far away when the music began, this was not what disturbed her, she found it soothed her unbridled rage and bloodlust. The laughter of human children snapped her to though, normally she wouldn't think tice about sending them screaming back to whence they came or worse. However the owner of such lovely music, she was intruiged by him, her endless years of being on this earth had allowed her to see many things, and hear many things. His talent was quite unique, such a lovely sound she had never heard from anywhere before.
As her played there was a small peaceful smile on her lips, one that she rarely had these past several years, and as it came to an end, her lips curved into and unhappy expression, her faded red eyes trailing along the forest until her gaze rested on this flute player. He was a demon, but he was not him, surely by now even he was dead, the one she loved and died for.
A sense of wonder and curiosity came over the old demon as she watched silenlty, wondering what exaclty he planned to do with the children that he had lured even further into the forest's depths. Did he plan on devouring them? He did not seem the type to feed on human children, so that possibly couldn't be it. Silently se remained in place, not moving an inch, watching the scene unfold before her, while not maknig her presence known.

the demon for that was indeed what he was, looked around quickly but when he didn't see anything his attention was again turned towards the children. They were twins he noticed, couldn't tell them apart not even by scent " what are you doing so close to the forest aren't you afraid of demons" his voice was soft and gentle as he kneeled down in-frond of them. One of the children was slightly braver the her sister "yes sir but mother says not all demon are bad, and the flowers here are pretty" she took her sisters hand wile she answered, the demon shook his head and sighed. " I better get you home your parents most be worried " he held out his hand to them and she took it puling her sister along " what's your name mister demon, mine is Hina and this is Suna, she's shy and mother say it's okay, was it you that made the butterfly's and can you do it again another day, were do you live are you staying" the demons eyes grew lager and lager at the many questions, then he laughed " easy young one one question at at time. Im called Saiya and you can call me that, and its a plesure to meet you to." while they talked they had moved closer to to the village and was almost half way there. when the girl called Suna stumbled.

The demon had been following them, silenly moving through the trees, sounding like nothing more than a breaze, her scent was that of wild Azalia flowers, beautiful, but she was a deadly creature and well known for her terror, and havock she wrought. Yet the music she heard today strangely soothed her soul that had been forged in the fires of war and disaster, the monster inside strangely soothed and dormant for now. The air was so strangely crisp here, beautiful, usually she had the urge to destroy, to cause mayhem, but currently shejjust wanted to follow this intruiging demon. Hearing his name made her chuckle softly, no longer caring if her presence was made known.
Remaining crouched on the branch, her arms between her legs and gripping the wood for added balance. Kaosu looked much like a wild and unruly demon with such long, messy yet beautiful hair, and those eyes that screamed danger. She was the embodiment of a beautfiul nightmare for humans. cracking a small, wicked smile she simply watched as one of the twins tripped. "Silly human children, there are boundaries for a reason. you have your world and we have ours, take it from someone who has lived for a very very long time, growing too close to a demon as a mortal is a fatal idea." her voice was beautiful, but a hint of pain was hidden in her words as she spoke, Kaosu had lost everything, even the demon she had fallen for, as a mortal. She really should not exist but here she was, made to wallow, suffer, and hate the world for her pain, for her loss.
"The demon world is no place for mortals, it never has been and never will be. stay out of the woods, you are lucky a friendly demon found you this time, there are those that wouldn't think twice about devouring children, and they exist here, I have seen them." She said more coldly as she dropped down from the tree, her dark black Kimono with the white flowers flowed beautifully, she was the perfect mixture of wild and elegance. Her eyes slowly shifted to the male demon, watching him in a mixutre of curiosity and weariness, many demons were loners by nature. She was no acception, and some loners were violent to so called invaders of space, so she wanted to make sure he wasn't hostile, no matter how kind and friendly he seemed. "I am called Utsukushī Kaosu, but I prefer Lady Kaosu for obvious reasons..." She decided after her piece of advice she would introduce herself, well to the demon anyways, she had no interest in the human children at the moment.

Saiya had quickly caught Suna as she stumbled, but froze when he heard a sound and caught the scent of the other demon. He rose slowly and turned towards her pushing the children behind him. He liked children they were funny and innocent, he didn't like them harmed, grown up humans an the other hand was to be viewed with caution.
he griped the flute, ready if she was as dangerous as she looked, but otherwise didn't do anything than look her over. Maybe it would be best to get the children out of here she didn't look like she wanted a fight, but one could never know with demons they were sneaky. He bent down to gather the girls in his arms without ever taking his eyes of her, and slowly stood. Suna hid her head in his long free flying hair while her sister looked interested at the female demon as she talked. Saiya narrowed his eyes, it was clearly the other demon had had some trouble in her life. She sounded sad, with his head a little tilted he answered " nice to meed you I'm Saiya " his voice was a little harder then when he had addressed the children, but not overly so. He smiled a small smile when Hina interjected " I like demons they are pretty, well some are".
Saiya couldn't help thinking of the trouble she would be in if she didn't learn that Lady Kaosu had been right in her statement just now, her life would probably be very short. He backed away not turning his back to Kaosu " I will take them home now" he stated hoping she didn't attack, "bye-bye lady" Hina said waving and smiling.

Lady Kaosu nodded giving a small smile to the girl that told her good bye as waved her hand before turning away. It was best they left, that everyone left, her included before she did something she would later regret. "Beautiful, yes, but we are still very dangerous creatures. Good bye.." With that she began to walk away, the expression on her face became rather sullen, the soft features of her face seemed to linger in this state as she slowly strolled through the woods, heading for a cliff overlooking a valley. Her right hand reached out gently brushing against the bark of the trees on that side, the groves, each unique and familiar in their own right. It had been several centuries since she felt so eerily calm, no desire to fight or cause mayhem, what had that man's music done to her? this was not like her, usually she would find a way to send the children running terrified into the village, eagerly fighting the demon that would protect them, yet this time Lady Kaosu just didn't feel it. Instead she felt so strangely peaceful like when she had first died. She would follow him from afar, trail him, study, and try to figure out why he had such a profound affect on her.
"I am too old for this..." She sighed, finally making her way through the trees and over to a cliff covered in wild flowers with brilliant red and violet petals, it was so serene. Smiling again she took a step forward, her bare feet steeping onto the cool grass, the rest rising up around her ankles, her pace was calm, and exuded confidence. This demon was a wild force to be reckoned with, and as her power pulsed around the area over the valley below and back towards the forest, she would make her presence fully known, demanding her solitude and respect. She had lived far too long and had little patience for the young of this world, so silence, and a good soaking in the sunlight would be nice. She smirked slightly as she watched the demons flee from the pulse of power, heading well away from the village and her direction, what weak creatures.
With that she made her way to the right spot, right in the center of the wild flowers and sat down slowly, closing her eyes, and resting a bit, her nap she was trying to have didn't last very long so she was still tired, lately she had grown so very weary of this world, even with the strife she fed off of, living for as long as she did alone was starting to wear on her. Taking a deep breath, Lady Kaosu cleared her thoughts and heightened her senses, none would sneak up on her while she rested, not if they valued their life, but she had to be prepared.

he watch her leave with a frown she hadn't done anything other than warn the children, had she been one of those like him that didn't hate children, he shook his head, better be safe than sorry he thought and set of running. At the age of the village he stopped, put the girls down and smiled "you go home now and don't come to the forest again at least until you are old enough to fight" as he watch them run of he felt a little sad, he was alone again, most other demons was scared of him and those that weren't normally wanted to fight or ignore him, with a sigh he turned and walked away.
later around days end he walked listlessly through the forest when he saw her, Lady Kaosu, she looked like she was sleeping. He was not close enough to disturb her, well he shouldn't be but one never knows, she looked peaceful to him and no other demons were near by. He hoped she would have sweet dreams. Saiya jumped up into a tree to silently watch her when an idea struck him, he could give her those sweet dreams he hoped, he lifted the flute and started plying, no illusions emerged this time, only a sweet and gentle melody. It quieted the beast and demons close enough to hear it and as the sun set the music changed to match the night.

For a while she just sat there, listening to the music, it soothed her violent soul in such a strange way. Images began forming in her head, memories from a time long ago. When she was but a mortal woman, she had met a demon, the memory of her first encounter with the one her heart ached for brought a small smile to her pale lips. He was probably long dead, or even forgotten about her, but she would never forget him. Taking a long deep breath Lady Kaosu held in her pain, it was such a bitter sweet image. "You must be lonely too.." She finaly spoke, not bothering to open her eyes, welcoming the strange sense of company which she had for so long avoided. "you kind of remind me of someone.. Seiya was it?" A small breaze whisked through her wild hair and passed in front of her before she opened her eyes, pale red eyes looked up at the sky, the array of colors from the setting sun was quite lovely. "Your music is so oddly soothing.. I wonder why."

Saiya jumped a little when she spoke but didn't falter in the music, he jumped down and got closer to her only stopped paying when he sat beside her, " some times I am lady" he looked out over the valley. He looked intrigued at her next words, who could it be he reminded her of, he was curious by nature, one of the reasons he had stayed when he had seen her. "Saiya is the name I live with" he nodded, when she addressed the music he thought about how mush he should tell it was not a secret per say but one shouldn't give up all his cards. "hmm the music is talent, people seems to enjoy it when I play" he finally admitted "why you like it is something you can answer the best" he liked her presences it wasn't normal his stile to just let his guard down around people he didn't know but to night he was to weary to do much else.
he thought back to the long journey he had had. He missed his home, not the scorn but other things like the cops playing, the dancing and most of all the felling of belonging his parents had given him, he liked this place it was beautiful and quiet, not much war had reached here. laugher from the village reached his sensitive ears and he smiled, maybe he should stay here for a time, recover his strengths, form the last greater demon he had encountered a shudder ran though him, it had been a nasty fight. He looked at Kaosu " hmm I wonder" he whispered and then transformed into the fox he really was, and started to lick the long gashes in his side.

Kaosu watched as he approached, her pale colored eyes watching him curiously, listening to his words with a calm expression. "I have lived for so long I do not remember my original name, so I chose one that fits me as I am now." She nodded about his music and looked away briefly, obviously not bothered or threatened by his presence. Her gaze went up to the rising moon focusing on it, as her thoughts began to swell for what felt like the first time in a very long time. "I have been to many places, seen and heard many things, but your music is, indeed very special. I like it, I do not know why." Taking a hand she casually ran fingers through her unruly hair that easily gave way, despite its appearance it was quite soft and she took good care of it, she was just always on the move, always traveling, so it often took on the look of something wild.
When she sensed him shifting, she tensed and got ready to defend herself, but relaxed as she turned her head and saw a lovely large white fox with several tails. He had begun licking a wound, part of her wanted to help but she was no healer, she was a chaotic creature, but she could keep him company while he rested and recovered. Strangely she wanted to, it was the only way she could offer her help to him. "I am no healer... but my presence will keep other demons at bay so take as much time as you like to recover, I have no where to be." She offered, finding it strange, she never offered anyone anything, nor had any desire to help before. Saiya had affected her somehow, maybe it was because he reminded her of him so much, the longer she stared the more her heart began to ache, eventually she tore her eyes away. She was feeling weak and hated it, biting her bottom lip she turned her gaze back to the sky, this encounter was only temporary, eventually she would go back to her monstrous ways, terrorizing humans and demons alike, this was just her losing her touch, or so she led herself to believe.

the fox looked up at her tongue still slightly out nodded his thanks and continued the cleaning. when the wound was as clean it could get he transformed back in to human shape Smiled a little said " it will heal eventually, he wasn't poisonous I think, he didn't look it but..." he made a little helpless gesture with his hands "he was strong though". He turned to her " you say you are old what type of demon are you if you don't mind me asking that is" his green eyes sparkled in the dying light, they were one of to features he couldn't change he hoped with age it would be possible, the white tail swished behind him as if it had a life of it's own.
he was a little surprised of her offer to keep him company wile he rested she sad to say didn't seem the type, but he was happy she intrigued him and he was curious about her story he didn't think she would tell him all but maybe some he hadn't heard of her before but only very few of the really strong were widely known, or known to him at least. " you said I reminded you of some one, do you want to talk about it, you seem sad and I will need a couple of hours before I'm ready to go on, if I don't decide to stay here that is, might as well pass the time with some thing"

A soft cuckle escaped her lips as she noticed his white tail swishing behind him, her eyes then traveled up to his and connected. "I am Chaos, born in the fires of war and devistation, it is really all I know. I have been alive so long I don't even remeber how long I have lived, it has been so very long. Most I meet do not have the luxury of even a conversation with me.." She ponder on how much to tell him about her past, which pieces to leave out, or even if she should share anything. Perhaps it was time someone learned her story, those ho knew it where surely no more, so through someone other than herself, Koasu's story would need to live on, if she were to fade from this world at least someone would know of her struggle.
"Back during the time when demon clans were still largely common, and often rivaled that of human society, a noble girl was born and raised into that hugely chaotic world. Very human, and treated like a fragile, precious doll, which she hated." She tunred her head and looked out to the valley, watching some of the wild deer graze in the moonlight. "For most of her life she had never stepped foot outside her home, or rather, she was forbidden to. On top of it all, she was taught to fear demons, that all, no matter how friendly had evil intentions. But she didn't really believe them, and one night, she decided to escape the castle to seei f she could find the demon tribe her family was sensely warring with..." She trailed off to allow Saiya to process what she had said so far, her fingers still slowly going through her soft, light, sandy colored hair. The memory was quite fresh to her, almost like it happened only days ago, but instead it had been several centuries.

chaos and old, he frowned a little it didn't sound like a nice way to start a life and lonely to. He lay down with his head on his arms but eyes still on her, he relaxed even if she was normally fiery she seemed friendly enough. If his music had done that he was a little proud. As she started her story his eyes slowly turned to the scenery and faraway, he almost felt he could see the young girl she talked about. He pitied the human such a restricted life couldn't have been easy. Had she known this girl or some ting else. He listened and the idea that she had been brave enough to seek out a demon clan and a enemy that is, he hoped she hadn't been killed. The story and her voice had him almost in a trace he loved storys, they almost always gave him a feeling of being there him self, if this was a part of his gift he didn't know it, but he knew a now song would be made from this, maybe not with words but a melody was a given. He hoped he could bring this young girls story to life and with the right emotions. He didn't move except for the blasted tail.

Notcinig his interest she gave a sad smile. "A life trapped inside palace walls allowed her to learn the hidden places, blind spots of the watch, so she snuck out into a thick and dark forest. She travelled for a while, fearless of the night and the creatures that lurked in the darkness. Until she came to a small clearing with a stream." each image was so vivid in her mind it felt like she was almost going thorugh it all over again. "There he was, his face.... I cannot remember but that was where she had met him. for the first time it was a rather silent encounter, neither spoke, but instead watched in silence, like some sort of unspoken converstation had taken place." Closing her eyes slowly, she could feel her heart shudder which made her chest follow suite. This story was deeply connected to her, and the mixture of eotion in her voice said as much as she spoke. "As weeks passed they grew closer together, he opened up to her little by little, and with him she actually felt free for once. She could not see this evil her family said that he was. There was nothing there, he was just trying to live..." Her heart grew heavy as she processed what she was about to tell Saiya next, describbing the final night of her own human life would be the hardest thing for her. "something went wrong though, someone had grown suspicous, sensing something different in her I suppose, perhaps a new purpose, a new reason for life. They must have followed her one night, discovered their meeting place. By the next night, she found herself trapped in her room with guards posted outside, she could not go the same way, the one thing that made her truly anxious was the sound of the malita heading out the gates. They must have learned of his location so close to her home." A frown appeared on her face as a dark expression crossed her delicate features. "That would be the last night... she would ever see him.. To get to him she had to first escape, and there was only one way. The whole place was full of hidden pathways in the walls, secret tunnels that also went underground and led outside. She often played in then growing up, and they were her key to getting there." The pain was starting to fill her heart, it hurt, these memories hurt, she had lost him that day, everything for her reason to exist was simply just gone, and here she was, sitting here, telling a complete stranger her story. "... She made it to thier meeting place, but by the time she was there, the once beautiful area was covered with blood, so much blood, the malita was attacking him relentlessly though, they seemed to just keep coming at him ,never allowing him to rest. He was growing exhausted, demon or not there was only so much he could do. There was another, the captain of the malita, he had snuck up behind the demon, ready to run him through, but before he did, the human woman shoved him out of the way and took the blow instead. Her rationalization as she felt the life quickly fading from her, was that she had fallen in love with him, he had been sovery kind and accepting to her, but also did not treat her like she was something so fragile. A kind demon who had given her life a sense of light... I know this story because I was that human, Both times I was born in the fires of war and chaos, but this time I am free, yet alone." opening her eyes she looked up at the sky, her eyes reflecting the stars.

As the story progressed his hart started beating faster he could guess the path the story was taking and he didn't like it. He felt for the young girl that had only found companionship in a demon, one who would out live her by many centuries. It was a doomed romance. He was also a little scared he was getting to close, he could almost feel her fear of loosing her loved one. When she finished her story he didn't move for a long time, couldn't speak, shaking a little from time to time. When he finally spoke it was so soft that only another demon would have been able to hear it " you were once human " his eyes was still looking far away, still seeing a time long gone, even long before he was born, the shaking didn't stop, he couldn't comprehend the pain she had felt or the pain he the demon had felt. Were was he now, had he loved her, he must have felt something to have stayed. "what was his name" still the soft voice didn't rise higher than a whisper, gentle and kind like the spring wind.
