In the early hours of July 4, 2020, the decades long Cold War between the two most powerful nations in the history of Earth reached a breaking point. The Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, and the United States of America destroyed each other in a blaze of nuclear hellfire.
The War of a Thousand Suns scorched the Earth, Bio-engineered plagues swept the globe, and chemical weapons poisoned the air. The pitiful survivors scrambled and lived day to day.
Now in the first days of 2170, life hasn't improved significantly. Hot Zones dot the landscape, roving packs of mutant beast roam the lands, and vicious "Barons" rule the decedents of the American people with iron fist. Where rule of law is determined by who has the most rifles, and the best war-rigs survival is still a difficult thing to accomplish.
