When Worlds Collide

[Remus]

Alastair moved slowly through the crowd towards the exit. As he heard the boy following him from some distance behind. Alastair could still not sense any sort of unusual power coming from him. Could this boy really be responsible for destroying multiple worlds and even universes?

He exited the building and walked to the far end of the alleyway away from the convention and other people. Turning around to the boy he gently lifted Kyubey and placed him on his shoulder.

"There's no sense in hiding things anymore." He said with a soft yet stern voice as he stared down at the boy. "You may, or may not know what I am but I have a good sense on who you are, or at the very least my friend does. So why don't we start by asking you why exactly you are here, what do you hope to accomplish?"

As Alistair and Kyubey led the boy away, a hooded figure watched from the second floor balcony and slowly descended the stairs to follow them.

"Well.....I don't really know who you are," the boy said curiously. "But as to why I'm here, I'm just here to have fun, get a few autographs, go to some panels, meet a few voice actors," the boy listed his reasons for being there. "And I'm just curious, but how did you get that plushie to sit on your shoulder?" he pointed to Kyubey, who cocked his head to the side.

I'm not a plush toy, I was just pretending to be one to avoid any attention Kyubey said as he leaped from Alistair's shoulder and stared up at the boy.

"Whoa, that's a....that's a neat trick," the boy said bewildered. "Seriously, how are you doing that?"

It's not a trick, I can assure you what you're seeing is very real Kyubey said while his tail swished behind him. We're here because an energy spike was detected here and you're- huh? Kyubey began to explain but then peeked around the boy's legs to see a hooded figure standing silently at the end of the alley.
Someone followed us Kyubey warned.

[Remus]

Alistairs eyes narrowed. He was not expecting that they would have company during their little meeting. He didn't like the idea. It opened up further possibilities. Perhaps the boy wasn't the true source of the energy spike after all. Perhaps it was the figure behind him whose face was hidden underneath his hood. Perhaps the boy was merely a puppet, something to draw attention away from the real culprit until the time to strike had come. Or perhaps they were working together. One in the open and the other in the shadows.

'I don't like this.' he thought towards Kyubey We may have stumbled upon some sort of group rather than an individual.

Alastair sniffed the air as if trying to get a scent of the person but this world was filled with so much that he could barely separate everything around him.

"Who are you?" He asked over the boy's shoulder. He would be leaving himself vulnerable if the boy chose to attack, but if he had to take a hit then so be it. His hand inched toward the sword he kept at his back. "Is this what you had planned? To wait until we were away from the crowd? Why not attack right away. If my friend's information is right you certainly have no problem with destruction."

(ooc: Alastair is basically fishing for ideas not. Cause it still could be anything at this point. He's quite old so he's battle knowledgeable. I mean he even sneaked a sword into a con!)

The figure's mouth curled into a psychotic grin. "Who I am is none of your damn business," the figure said as he approached. The figure was wearing a hooded yellow cape with black markings and large rolled-up cuffs along with long black ribbons and bandages across his arms. His only visible eye was yellow and similar to a snake's eye. "Although I will thank you for flushing that brat out for me," he said turning his gaze to the boy behind Alistair. "Saves me the trouble of hunting him down myself,"

"Destruction? Is anyone gonna tell me what's going on?" the boy said, the nnoticed Alistair's sword. "Wait, if that's real how did you get that past weapons check?" he asked.

Oh no... Kyubey's voice said. That's Yuki Terumi. Alistair, grab the boy and let's leave, now Kyubey instructed, emphasizing on the now part.


(ooc: For awhile I was juggling who the figure should be, but I ultimately decided on Yuki Terumi from the BlazBlue series. Oh and the boy is currently trying to rationalize everything until Alistair and Terumi's abilities are shown.)

[Remus]

"Your fellow humans aren't as attentive to detail as the appear." Alastair muttered to the boy. He had seen two or three humans by the door that had looked like the kind of guards that are normally stationed around human palaces and the dwellings of the rich. However they paled in comparison the guards of his day, it was almost too easy for him to blend into the crowd and slip in unnoticed when he first appeared in this world.

Alastair could only make out part of Terumi's face. The name meant nothing to him but to Kyubey he was an apparent danger. Were he on his own he would have probably challenged him, but there were still questions to be answered and now was not the time. He wrapped an arm around the boy. "Don't move. I won't have the time to catch you again if you fall."

Alastair looked skywards. Flying would be the worst option in his opinion. There were hundreds of humans just outside the alley and it would draw far to much attention to himself. Perhaps he wouldn't have to go far though. Yes the buildings here looked close enough to each other. He could use the rooftops for cover until he got far enough to find a way back on the ground. No time to waste, he jumped.

Alastair landed lightly on his feet on the rail of a fire escaped and jumped up again, his wings flowing out he pushed himself farther up until he was on the roof. He gave a quick scan of the area. No time to pick a direction. he thought and just began to run. When he reached the end of one rooftop he leapt lightly onto the other, still clutching the boy underneath his arm like a sack. It wasn't until he was several blocks away until he deposited the boy gently on the ground.

"We should be far enough from him now. At least far enough that we will have some time to formulate a plan. Kyubey...you said his name was Yuki Terumi. Who was he exactly? His clothes were strange, stranger even than most of what the humans here were wearing." His eyes narrowed. He didn't feel like a demon though." His eye's drifted towards the boy. "Then again neither do you, and yet it was you whom he was pursuing, not us."


[ooc: Okay so I kinda made a flimsy escape there using the roof. I have other endings where he uses the street behind him or even Kyubey could create a portal but I kinda liked the idea of Alastair looking at the enviorment and deciding to batman it out of there. He really has a poor sense of his surroundings having never been in that time period before. The security thing I did because it would make the most sense. Even though cons do make you go through that long security line checking you one at a time, Alastair being a real demon would be better at cloaking himself or any weapons he had on him. Anyway yeah.]

The boy winced as Alistair's arm wrapped around him. "Hey, what're you-?" he started until Alistair spoke. "If I fall? What do you-?" he never finished as Alistair leapt into the air. He was still in shock until Alistair dropped him onto the roof of another building. Everything happened in a blur, so his mind was still trying to process what happened.

Terumi is a villain from the BlazBlue universe, Kyubey explained. He isn't a demon, but he's an incredibly powerful magic user and a very vicious opponent as well. But I don't understand why or how he got here Kyubey pondered. He shouldn't be able to leave his world let alone come to a completely different realm...

Kyubey and Alistair were interrupted by a small noise. It had emanated from the boy. He was pointing at them with a bewildered look on his face. "No way...." he said meekly. "Those wings, that sword, that.... flying and.... Kyubey..." he said slowly. "This is real.... this is friggin' real!"

Calm down, I know this is a lot to take in, but why don't we start from the top while we can? Kyubey said as he approached the boy. You already know who I am, my companion's name is Alistair Kyubey said looking at the Alistair then back to the boy. And you are...?

"Uhhh.... Cade... my name is Cade," the boy said cautiously.

[Remus]

"A sorcerer then." Alastair leaned back and tilted his head so that he faced the sky above him. "That could complicate things. Sorcerers can equal demons in power, there are even cases in which they can possess and control demons like puppets. This BlazBlue universe, how different is it from ours, from this one? Was he trapped inside of it, sealed off in anyway?" Alastair's mind was running. If he couldn't outright kill Terumi the next best thing would be to seal him off or lock him away. If that was the case before than they might have to go to even more extreme measures.

Alastair turned down to Cade. "Believe me your world is as shocking to me as I must appear to you. To make a very long story very short. Demons and Sorcerers are very much real. As are other worlds and universes that lie parallel to yours. I only learned of some of these things a while ago myself, but it seems that that particular sorcerer, Terumi is on a path of destruction. The only connection to him that we have found so far is...you." He pointed towards Cade with a bit of dramatic air in his voice.


(occ: I love how Alastair only learned of AUs a little while ago and now he's explaining them )

Terumi was sealed away before once. Kyubey explained. He was put under a curse called the Mind Eater. It was placed on him by a sorceress named Nine, but eventually, Terumi broke free of it and killed her. Kyubey head then tilted. Unfortunately, the universe Terumi came from is a bit convoluted. It has so many timelines and alternate realities that it's hard to discern truth from supposition.

"Well this is all cool and everything, but what does this have to do with me?" Cade asked.

Kyubey turned his head to Cade. When these events started, there was a massive energy spike in this world, and you are the source.

A puzzled look appeared on Cade's face as he examined himself. "Well when was that? I haven't felt any different," he said.

"You know..." a voice said from behind them and they looked to fin the source was Terumi, approaching them while swinging an ethereal-looking green chain in his right hand with the same grin from before. "It's rather rude to interrupt someone when they're trying to have a conversation..."

[Remus]

A universe that is falling apart in other words Alastair thought back. He himself had come from such a world only instead of being destroyed by magic and sorcery it was ruined by madness and decay. Perhaps the boy - Cade - isn't the original source of the energy that is going around-. Alastair's mind whirled with the possibilities Perhaps he is merely a-


Terumi stepped forward as if from nowhere breaking Alastair from his thoughts. In his hand was a long chain that had an eerie green colour to it. He was swinging it in his hands rather menacingly. Alastair's eyes narrowed and he stepped suddenly in front of Cade. Funny how moments ago he would have considered destroying the boy without a second thought, and now here he was acting as the boy's protector.

"How rude of me indeed." Alastair replied with a hint of sarcasm as he drew his sword. "Allow me to apologize Terumi. [/I} Do continue, I look forward to see where this conversation is going."

[skyacezero]

Terumi sighed boredly. "Look, I'll make this simple, just hand the kid over and things won't get messy," he said. "However if you refuse, well then I can't be held accountable for what happens afterwards," Terumi failed to notice Kyubey creep up to him and touch him, creating a brief aura around him. "GAH! WHAT THE-?!" Terumi staggered and fell to one knee.

Kyubey opened a portal next to Cade. Hurry, he won't be stunned for long! Kyubey said with urgency. He turned to Cade. You first! We'll follow! Kyubey said.

"Wait What's going-?" Cade didn't have time to finish as Kyubey leapt up and knocked him through.

"OH NO YOU DON'T" Terumi said and a chain whipped horizontally through the air, shearing the portal in half and causing the upper half to dissipate.

Alistair, Let's go! Kyubey said ah he leapt through the bottom half.

[Remus]

He hated that he had to run. Hated that he had to flee twice now from this enemy. Especially when Terumi had challenged him directly to a fight. In Alastair's mind to run was the cowards way. It made him feel weak. Then again it was the fool who rushed headfirst into battle without a plan or only the slightest of inklings as to what they were up against. So be it then. Alastair dove towards the portal after Kyubey and Cade, hitting it on a half jump, half slide just before Terumi could attack him again and destroy it.

He landed hard on the ground and rolled a few feet in the dirt. Staggering, he made his way to his feet flexing his wings out to make sure they weren't crushed in the fall.

"I hate portals" he grumbled brushing himself off. He turned to face the other two. "Running like this won't work forever. We need a plan of attack or at the very least give ourselves a better defensive." He turned towards Cade. "Kyubey says the power he sensed came from you, even though you may yourself not know of it. Assuming that it is in you, it's a safe bet to think that, that is what Terumi may be after. If that's the case we may be able to harness it and use it against him. In the worst case we can use it to buy time, but we need to know. We need to figure out what his plans are so that we can work together at stopping him." He fell silent and for the first time took in his surroundings.

"This place feels different from the last. Are we still in the same realm Kyubey or is this somewhere new?" Terumi might have been able to go through the portal, but that didn't mean he didn't have other ways of following them.

[I did rush things a bit, but I think this will give us a better chance to flesh out some more dialogue, even though Alastair is just itching to fight. If I'm repeating myself in most of my replies that too will be fixed now that I have my schedule more or less balanced which means quicker replies from me. Though I could have described more of where they are now. I figured either in the same realm but miles away or some adjacent realm so that it would take Terumi some time to find them.)

Alistair, I'm sure you're eager to get a fight in, but try to understand Kyubey said while lying on his side, looking quite exhausted actually. Terumi isn't an opponent to be taken lightly, and if he can bypass dimensional veils now, who knows how much stronger he is? Kyubey continued. Then observed their surroundings.

They were in a grove of apple trees, and the world was a bit more colorful than the last world that they were in. As to where we are now, I set it to a random world in the secondary plane to throw Terumi off our trail Kyubey turned to Cade. As for you, I can theorize that- no sooner had Kyubey started talking than Cade seemed to fade away. What? An echo? Oh no.... he must've gotten separated from us when Terumi ripped the portal in half... Kyubey said.

"Now what in tarnation?" a country-accented voice said from behind Alistair and Kyubey, who both sanpped their attention to the source. It was a caramel-colored pony with a blonde mane, green eyes apple marks on it's flank and on a stranger note, it was wearing a cowboy hat. "Well if y'all ain't the darndest things I've ever seen...." the pony said, scratching that back of it's neck.

Elsewhere, in a different forest, Cade's eyes creaked open, and he let out a pained groan and rubbed the back of his head. He slowly sat up and looked behind him, seeing an above-ground root where his head used to be. "Wait, that plushie thing knocked me over and....." his voice trailed up and he scrambled to his feet. "Hey! Anyone here?!" he called out, only to receive no reply. "Wait, what am I doing?" he asked and got his smartphone out of his pocket. To his annoyance, the screen read 'NO SIGNAL'.

"Great, well, guess I'll have to do this the old fashioned way," Cade said and started walking.

A woman in a red dress was walking down a well-lit hallway. In addition to her red dress she had long black hair that covered one eye, which was bright amber in color. She stopped in front of a door and simply opened it, catching two people in the act.

"WHOA!" the man said in the dark room scrambling to cover himself. "Ever hear of knocking first?" he said sarcastically from the darkness.

The woman sighed. "Sorry to interrupt you but I have need of your companion. Don't worry I have a replacement," she said and turned to the the other silhouette. "Get dressed, we need you to track someone," she said and the silhouette bent over, gathered it's clothes and left the room and another woman dressed mostly in white entered after the silhouette left. "Just do whatever he wants..." she whispered to the woman in white and flung to door shut, walking away and sighing in disgust.

"How distasteful..." a voice from the side said and the woman in red faced the source, a young man adorned in gold armor. "And exactly how long are we keeping that buffoon here?" he asked.

"Until he outlives his usefulness, which sadly doesn't appear to be happening anytime soon..." The woman said. "But even then, he still has much knowledge on our other cohorts which we could use to our advantage. Wouldn't you agree..." her eyes narrowed. "King of Heroes?"

Okay, this is the most descriptive thing I've written in a looooong time. To avoid any character confusion here's a list of the characters that appeared in this post:

Alastair felt put out at Kyubey's words. He was right of course, going against Terumi now would indeed be the most suicidal idea he had ever had. Especially if he only saw a fraction of his power and that fraction was greater than anything he had ever seen before. He sniffed the air and found it was filled with the crisp, fresh scent of apples. Indeed the whole area seemed to be an orchard or a vast farmland. It was peaceful unlike the last realm the visited. Alastair immediately found himself more comforted by the open air and lack of people to surround him.

Kyubey was talking to Cade. Alastair turned just in time to see the boy vanish in thin air. He startled and for a moment his hand had jumped to the hilt of his sword. "An echo." Kyubey had explained. The boy apparently had gotten separated from them whilest Terumi had attacked the portal. Another lucky break,

As if things could not get any weirder a voice called out to them. "Well if y'all ain't the darndest things I've ever seen." Alastair turned. It was a horse. A talking horse. It was wearing a hat. Out of all the things he had seen today, heck out of everything he saw in his entire life, demons, creatures that had only half of their bodies with three eyes and seven mouths, and all the different realms, this definitely had to top all of it. He quickly thought in Kyubey's direction.

She doesn't seem dangerous, we need to find Cade. If by chance he landed somewhere not to far from where we did we could use someone to better guide us around. He took a tentative step towards the horse.

"Hello.... my uh companion and I." He gestured towards Kyubey. Seemed to have landed in the middle of your field here. We had another one with us, a young boy but he seems to have gotten separated from us. Hopefully he isn't too far but he is very important and we don't know where he could have ended up around here."

[o.o.c: Dude you totally blew my mind with the mlp. I don't watch the show but I was cracking up for a good five minutes, especially because Alastair keeps calling her a horse. ((I actually had to watch a video to ensure AppleJack was a girl.) Alastair being all friendly and nice is scary though. I figure he's kind of like InuYasha at the beginning of the anime. Right now he doesn't really care, he's just in everything for the fights and the reward. So he is kind of stupid and a bit of an ass. On the other note since things have apparently split a bit I may introduce another character either to meet Cade along the way or to be the tracker that the woman had enlisted. I had a character from a different story who did something similar. Also I love how Cade still refers to Kyubey as a plushie.)

"Huh...." Applejack put her hoof to her chin. "That sounds along the lines 'o what the other two-leggers said when we firs' met 'em," she said. "But ah gotta say you're uh... differnt from the others, are ya their version of a pegasus?" she asked. "What with the wings 'n all," she quickly pointed out.

Hold on, what other 'two-leggers' came through? Kyubey asked Applejack, who started looking around and behind Alistair.

"Hey is there somepony else with ya'?" she asked. "Ah coulda' sworn another voice..." she said perplexed.

Look next to the man's feet at the thing swishing it's tail Kyubey said and Applejack complied. I'm the one speaking to you and again, what do you mean 'other two-leggers'?

Applejack's eyes went as wide as dinner plates and went eye level near Kyubey. "Wait a minuet, YER the one talkin'? But 'cher mouth ain't even movin'!" she said.

I speak using telepathy Kyubey said. I'll tell you what, you answer our questions and we'll answer yours, fair?

Applejack hummed in thought for a moment, then sighed. "Alright, whadaya wanna know?" she asked, getting back on her hooves.

For startes, you said something about 'other two-leggers, can you describe them?" Kyubey asked.

"Well let's see...." Applejack said while putting her thoughts together. "There was one with red hair who looked like she had a couple 'o twigs comin' outta her head....oh and she had a huge, fancy-lookin' fork with her," Applejack explained. "The next 'un....well, he spoutin' sum'in 'bout bein' a 'white steel' or sum'in-or-other, but that mask 'o his? That thing gave even ME the heebie-jeebies," Applejack continued. "There was one more, but I dunno too much about 'em"

Cade finally broke through the treeline and found himself on a dirt road. Looking around he spotted what appeared to be a town in the right direction. "Finally, some form of civilization," Cade said and started down the path. "Maybe while I'm there I can find a phone or something I can use," he thought out loud. As he was walking, he failed to notice he was being watched by someone from the treeline.

Far away from the town, a dark gateway opened up and three beings stepped through. One was Terumi, the other two werw a cloaked figure and a young man with white hair tied in a ponytail and was wearing a regal-looking suit.

"Ah, this world..." the white-haired man said, taking a breath of the air. "So serene, so picturesque, wouldn't you agree?" he said pleasently to Terumi, who growled and looked away in disgust. "Oh come now, if you hadn't failed in the Primary Realm, we wouldn't be here now chasing them down," he said almost tauntingly.

"Watch it..." Terumi growled.

The white-haired man gave an amused laugh and turned to the cloaked one. "You're sure this is where they are?" he asked and a sadistic grin formed under the hood.

"I smell things that don't belong here..." the cloaked one said and giggled manically. It's voice was feminine, with a eerie dual-tone effect.

The white-haired man looked at the cloaked one for a moment then smiled. "Good enough for me, so what do you say we pay the inhabitants a little visit?" he asked as he started forward with the cloaked one in tow.

"Damnable vampire...." Terumi growled and followed.

If you want to indroduce another character, go right ahead, It would most likely create more options and direction for the thread, As for the tracker, I already had one in mind and they were accompanying Terumi and the new character introduced. Oh the new character, the white-haired man is Ferid Bathory from 'Seraph of the End'.

"Pegasus?" Alastair asked with a slight tilt to the head. He racked his mind, running a list of all the other higher demons and half demons that he knew of. Many had wings like he, but none of which went by the name Pegasus. Perhaps it was some manner of god in this world. The talking horse-pony had mentioned that others like them had been here before. Kyubey was inquiring about them. He suppressed a grin at it's shock at Kyubeys' manner of speaking. Alastair had to admit it did take some getting used to. Applejack had described didn't match what Terumi looked liked but that meant little in a world of magic and other realms.

"Any idea who they might be Kyubey? Are they friends or enemies of Terumi?" He looked around at the beautiful landscape. "I guess that doesn't matter as much now as our more pressing problem." He turned to AppleJack. "The other one you mentioned. What did he look like? Was he a young boy? Dark hair, rather on the short side -he held his hand roughly about half his height- He would be dressed in even stranger clothes than me." It was the best description he could give of Cade. "He might look lost or confused. He certainly would fit the description of someone who is from a different world."

[ooc: I HAVE RETURNED! Again I am so so sorry for making you wait almost an entire year for me. My first initial return post may be a little rusty cause I was trying to catch up on everything that had happened again but that shall improve as we restart everything. I do have several characters I could possibly use -most are evil lol- but it may be a bit too soon to key them in unless the vampire-tracker has some friends. Anyway we'll get more caught up later when your back on.)
