Hunting Jewel Shards

(Reviving an old thread that never even got started! It's open to everyone, but at the moment I just really need an Inuyasha and probably a Naraku. I'll be playing Kagome, and I suppose I could probably play a few other canon characters.)


Kagome trudged out of her house, dragging her overstuffed backpack behind her. "Ohh... that algebra test... There's no way I passed it. And I'm still so behind in history! What am I gonna do?" she whined as she walked down to the well and jumped in. As she floated through time and space, she sighed again. "I wonder what the teacher would say if I told him the real reason I've been missing so much school is because I've been fighting demons in the feudal era. Oh, at this rate, I'm gonna flunk out! I wonder if Inuyasha would be all right if I just came for the weekends?"

Kagome's feet touched down in the dirt of the Bone Eater's well. She adjusted her backpack and then started to climb up out of the well. "Mmm... well, I dobut Naraku would just quit hunting for the jewel shards just because I'm failing algebra. Oh, what's a girl to do?" she continued to whine. Finally, she reached the top and threw her backpack over the side. She sat on the edge of the well and looked up, holding her arm up to block out the sun.

"I'll just have to study harder! It shouldn't be that hard," she said, smiling. She stood up and stretched, then looked around the forest. "Hmm... wonder where Inuyasha is? Usually he's standing right here waiting. Inuyasha! I'm ba-ack!"

Pouting. That was the only thing his other companions could call it. He'd been told to not go get her and wait until she came back because she had to fight something strange called a 'test'. He'd wished her luck in her battle, for lack of a better understanding of it and watched her go. The jewel shards weren't the only reason's he got antsy about her leaving, she was part of his pack. Being a dog-demon was complicated at times when even he didn't fully understand some parts of himself, it's not like anyone told him, he basically acted on instinct. For years he'd essentially been wild because people feared and hated him. Now his pack accepted and even followed him, it was something he never had before. His scent was marked on each of them to better track them and when she went through the well he knew where she was but it still bothered him. Sure as a boy he'd been a mama's boy but she'd died a long time ago and never had anyone really since. Kagome was the first to accept him truly for who he was and in a way he was scared of it, not that he'd ever admit it.

His skin might be tough but his heart was a fragile thing. In his own way he did care about her even though they had things they needed to do and Kikyo was still out there. Naraku had made sure to torture them at every turn for all of them. Sango's brother, Miroku's hand and even Shippo's father. Poor kid had been adopted by this strange pack of people. Kagome was his fill in mother at this point, and Inuyasha had become his annoying older brother/father when the occasion would arise. His harsh words and foul language had softened over time.

Suddenly sniffing the air he was pulled from his thoughts. He'd been watching Kaede tending to the garden while the Monk flirted in vain with Sango again. Well he assumed it was in vain because honestly he didn't really understand anything about being a pervert. 250 and he was honestly a teen in demon years so his mind just started to go that way.

Bolting to the forest he was certain she was back. He knew that, what did Kagome call it? Shampoo? He knew it anywhere. He assumed she'd oversleep or something and would come later in the day but he was glad she was back earlier than he thought. Those ears on his head heard her yelling to him so he picked up the pace and jumped into the clearing, "keh... you're back early. Did you win the fight with that test thing?"
