Meeting the Lord of the Western Lands

[Remus]

Sesshomaru growled. "So once again the coward depends on his little pets instead of fighting like the "true" demon he claims to be!" He drew Tōkijin, the blade glowing with its powerful aura. "The priestess is mine Kagura. I shall not let you or your master claim her! He slashed with the sword causing Kenatsu needles to fire themselves towards the wind demon.

[LadySesshy]

"Naraku wants her power," said Kagura. As the fight begun Jaken got Rin on top of Ah-Un and took her somewhere safe.

"I don't know who this Naraku is but he can forget it!" Sakura shot more scared arrows.

"Why not use that sword on me Priestess? Or are you scared?" Questioned Kagura.

"No, I don't need my sword to fight you." Sakura was keeping a secret from him. Why hadn't she drew her sword when she fought him earlier? Was there something wrong with her sword? As the fight continued Sakura ended up piercing Kagura with a scared arrow. She yelled in pain as she turned and retreated for the time being. Looked like if he wanted her Naraku would have to take her himself.

[Remus]

"Looks like she's gone for now." Sesshomaru observed not bothering to give chase. "When Naraku learns that Kagura has failed, he will surely try to set a trap for you himself." He clenched his fist tightly. "When he does that, he will give me the opportunity to destroy him." He looked at Sakura. "You said you do not know of him. Naraku is one of the most foul creatures on this planet. He pretends to be a demon but he is little more than a hanyou who uses tricks and illusions to make himself appear more powerful then he really is. He is a coward who always runs from battle, if he ever decides to fight for himself. That woman you saw was named Kagura, a creation from Naraku's own flesh. Like I said, he prefers to use his pets to do the work for him. He probably wishes to corrupt your power and feed off of it, but he wont be able to hide from me forever..."

Rin and Jaken came back and the group went to Sesshomaru's castle in the west. His mother was coming for a visit and it was best he be there to greet her when she arrived. She actually had her own place but liked to come by and visit sometimes. Sakura was riding with Rin on Ah-Un and Jaken was on the beast's head as the group went on.

[Remus]

Sesshomaru landed in front of the garden's that surrounded his palace. Ah-Uh touched down just beside him carrying his passengers. Sesshomaru lightly patted the dragon on the head when a servant -a demons of course- who was tall, and had a mane of blonde hair streaked with red ran up to greet him. "Lord Sesshomaru!" he exclaimed upon reaching him. The servant bowed gracefully. "It's good to see you home again m'lord. Your people have greatly missed you here at the Western Palace as did we all." He continued on not yet noticing the two extra people. "I bring you news of your mother. She is too arrive here shortly. It is good that you came when you did. She would most likely be upset if you were not there to greet her. Would you-?" he paused suddenly noticing Rin and Sakura for the first time. His gaze paused on them for a moment. "M'lord?"

"These two are to be treated as distinguished guests at my home, Kytsuri." Sesshomaru instructed. "They are to be treated in the same regard as you treat me. See too it they have everything they need and are as comfortable as possible." he lowered his voice. "and see to it that my mother doesn't know until I get the chance to talk to her first!"

[LadySesshy]

"Talk to me about what?" It was too late. His mother walked up to them. Usha(That's what I normally use as her name as the show never says her name, just calls her Lady Mother) walked up to the group. He saw the two. "Sesshomaru! Those are humans! Gross, don't touch them. You don't know where they've been."

"Hey! How rude! I don't know where you've been either," says Sakura.

"Who do you think you are talking to me like that!" Demanded Usha.

"I'm Sakura, and this is my sister Rin. And NO one tells me I'm gross. Exspecially a weakling demon!"

"Now you've had it! Fight me right now!" Usha demanded.

"As you wish. If beating you will earn your respect I'll do it," said Sakura. Jaken took Rin away to her room. She didn't need to see something like this. And before Sesshomaru could object the two women were heading to the room that was set up for training.

[Remus]

Sesshomaru could barely believe it. Not only had this human openly challenged his mother, but instead of outright killing her for the insult, she practically agreed to real combat. His mother was always doing this. To him it seemed she was always trying to pass some kind of judgement or admonish him in some way. Always claiming it to be the best for him. A fight between her and Sakura would not be pretty for either side.

"Mother, I have taken this woman and her sister into my protection. She is related to the sacred priestess Midoriko. I have seen her power with my own eyes. It could be useful if we ever wish to kill Naraku."

He chased after the two woman knowing from experience it would do no good to argue with his mother.

The two got into position for their fight. "This'll be over in five minutes. A human can't hope to beat a demon." But oh how wrong Usha was. This human was different though, as she was soon to discover. She pulled out her sword and ran at Sakura who dodged out of the way. "Good, at least you managed to avoid my attacks."

"Take this!" Sakura shot arrows at her. She made sure they weren't scared arrows but plain arrows. She didn't want to end up killing Sesshomaru's mother. Sakura managed to dodge every one of her attacks.

"You're good but let's see how well you do now." She wasn't! She was! She was turning into her true form for the fight.

"Ha! You think some huge dog will scare me," said Sakura. Expect Usha breathed out poisonous acid. Sakura ended up breathing it in. "Hey! *cough* No fair! You can't use poison! I guess I have no choice." She turns to Sesshomaru. "I'm going to use my sword. If I start acting weird please stop me." She brought out her sword. That was a scared sword! It was Midoriko's sword! Where'd she get that from? She shot beams of light out at Usha with the sword.

The battle went on until Sakura had knocked Usha out. No way! She defeated Sesshomaru's mother. How was this possible? But then something wasn't right. She had the scent of a demon! She turned, eyes red like she was under the sword's control and ran at Sesshomaru, swinging like a mad woman, growling at him. That must be why she's never used her sword before. She can't control it.

[Remus]

"A pointless war." Sesshomaru muttered underneath his breath. "Hell no fury like a demoness who's powers' been questioned. If not for the poison the two might actually be- he broke out of his thoughts. He could suddenly sense a very powerful demonic aura, coming from the training ground and yet there were no other demons there save for his mother and himself. He scanned the area trying to pinpoint it, when he realized Sakura had drawn her sword. The aura was coming from her! She had even managed to knock his mother out with one swing! Sakura charged him with the demon blade, but Sesshomaru noticed her attacks had a sort of chaotic clumsiness to it. That of one who hasn't mastered the weapon they wield. Instead of dodging he leapt into air and pounced on top of her, trying to knock the sword out of her hand."

"Drop the sword Sakura, it will be of no use to anyone if it's wielder is amongst it's victims.

[LadySesshy]

"Sister are you done with... AHHHHHHH!" Rin yelled from the doorway. "This is just like... this is just like... back then!" She turned and ran.

When Sesshomaru had touched her though it wasn't that he knocked the sword out of her hands. It was the mere fact he touched her. She snapped out of it. She stared at the blade and reattacted it to her hip. "Sesshomaru?" She mumbled before everything went black, the poison in her body effecting her. As it was the same type of poison Sesshomaru used he could probably remove it.

[Remus]

"Sakura." Sesshomaru whispered as he held her. He could feel the girl's heart slowly, her body felt strangely limp, and when he sniffed the air he could detect the sharp, stinging smell of poison. He brushed a stray hair off her face with a claw. As he did so his claws began to glow with the same eerie light they did whenever he was about to poison his enemies. This time however, he used it in the reverse affect. Slowly drawing the poison from her body her ran his hand up and down over her body to make sure that every last drop had been extracted from her body.

'this one may prove too useful to let go' he thought.

Sakura would be up soon, and when she was he would ask her about the blade. Like his own demon blade, it too contained great power. Only one with a powerful youkai, such himself, could ever hope to wield one and not go insane. How she came across it, and even be able to hold it without it instantly destroying her. He watched her silently waiting for her to wake up.

Sesshomaru's mother would be okay soon. She was a demon after all. Demons healed fast. Sakura woke up to Sesshomaru holding her. She blushed a bit. "Uh... what are you doing?" She moved off of him and stood up. She didn't remember a thing that had happened. She saw Usha was out. "Wow! I must of beat her. But I... I don't remember doing anything at all."

[Remus]

Sesshomaru let Sakura go and stood up. "That sword you possess. It contains very powerful demon youkai. Such swords are too powerful for even strong demons to handle and almost certainly lethal to humans. When you drew it, it's youkai took over you. It's what gave you the ability to hold your own against my mother." He looked over in her direction. "She's faced worse injury than this before. Her pride may be hurt at the idea of being hurt by a human, but I think she wont attack you like that again." There were much more important matters to consider at the moment than his mother anyway. "Where did you come across that sword Sakura. Humans rarely possess demons swords through natural means. Nor are they able to carry them around so easily."

[LadySesshy]

"It belonged to my ancestor, Midoriko. It's a family heirloom. It's been handed down in my family for ages. Right after the eldest daughter becomes a Priestess she's given this sword." A heirloom! That was just like the Tetsusaiga and the Tenseiga in his family. They were passed on as heirlooms as well. It was no wonder why she kept it even though it controlled her every time she used it. Because it's a family heirloom. It was the same reason why he kept the Tenseiga even though he felt it useless, because it was given to him by his father.

But wait a minute. Sure the sword helped her defeat Usha, but normally the sword should of killed its wielder. But seeing as it didn't, that must mean she's very strong for a human. It also meant there was hope she could master the sword and learn to control it.

[Remus]

So the sword once belonged to the great priestess. Sesshomaru thought. Passed down for so many years, it's power probably only grew in it's dormant state. When Sakura drew it, all the power it held lashed out all at once. If Sakura could learn to control that power, to wield it as her ancestor once did, she would be a force beyond reckoning to all demons!

"This could be a powerful weapon. Such could be used to create great destruction upon the land. Perhaps you should learn to control it's power should the need to use it arrive."
