Meeting the Lord of the Western Lands

OOC: I already have someone playing Sesshomaru. Jaken, Rin and Ah-Un are for anyone to play.



Sakura was walking around looking for her sister Rin. She didn't understand what had happened. She had told her sister she'd only be gone a few hours while she was taking care of a sickly woman in the next town over. But by the time she'd gotten back to their little cave her sister was gone. Now she was walking around looking for her and she'd been searching for days now. Still no sign of Rin. She was starting to worry. What if Rin had been eaten by a demon?

Suddenly she heard yelling. "Rin! This is no time to play. Now take your bath." She peeked around a tree out into a clearing that was next to a lake. The one talking had been a small toad demon.

"Fine," Rin sighed as she stopped playing in the water and begun bathing.

'That's my sister! But what's she doing with demons?' She looked and saw a tall looking demon with silver hair. 'That must be who kidnapped Rin.' She had no idea that Sesshomaru hadn't kidnapped her sister at all and the only reason Rin was with them was cause they were looking for her. Or that Sesshomaru had saved Rin's life when she was attacked and killed by wolves, bringing her back to life.  Sakura ran out into the clearing, shooting arrows at Sesshomaru, before anything could be explained to her. Her only thought was rescuing her younger sister from these demons.

[Remus]

"Rin, You should listen to Jaken." Sesshomaru murmured. "I thought it would good for you to visit your human home again. To see what your life would be like living amongst them should that be your choice." He scanned the area sniffing the air slightly to detect any demons that may be in the vicinity besides himself, Jaken and Ah-Un of course. The toad was impatient with Rin as ever and was most likely was going to be the victim of one of her childish games. Sesshomaru would never openly admit it but he was rather amused by the was Rin treated Jaken sometimes. It was her own little way of showing she cared for him too.

Sesshomaru could sense humans nearby but that didn't concern him. Most humans were terrified of demons and being one such as himself they gave him little cause to worry. He suddenly heard footsteps and there was a woman at the edge of the clearing running towards him.

'foolish girl' he thought as he saw her raise her bow. He quickly dodged her arrows and in a blink of an eye was standing in front of her grabbing her wrist so she could not attack again. "Enough of this." He demanded "You-" he broke off, his eyes widening very slightly for a moment. 'she smells exactly like Rin.' he thought. 'How could this be?..'

"Who are you?" he asked curtly. "Why do you attack this this one? Do you not know the frivolity of such an act?"

"Let me go! You kidnapped my sister. And I am here to rescue her!" She yelled at him. What? How dare a human talk to him, the great Lord Sesshomaru of the west like that. She had some nerve. She glared at him, unafaird. What? She wasn't the least bit scared of him. This human was tough and very brave. And were those scared arrows she shot? She must be a Priestess.

Rin noticing ran over at once. "My lord, that's my sister." She was already done with her bath and redressed.

[Remus]

"Your sister?" Sesshomaru asked trying to mask his surprise. He hadn't known Rin to ever mention her family before. Indeed she was the only one whom he knew from her village and thus was the only one he decided to spare. She unlike the others had shown him bravery that he wasn't used to seeing from humans. Sesshomaru didn't notice it before, but the woman did look a lot like Rin, only older...more grown up. She also gave him an odd feeling when she had shot those arrows at him. Those arrows were too similar to the ones the girl his brother traveled around with. Special arrows only usable to those with great power. He released her arm and crossed his own. "I did no such thing. Contrary to your beliefs this Sesshomaru saved Rin's life. She travels with me as my companion." more like my daughter. he thought.

[LadySesshy]

"I don't believe you! Only a weakling would kidnap a helpless girl, you weakling!" She cried out. Uh oh! Now she'd done it! No one but NO one ever calls him weak.

"Sister it's..." Rin was about to say when she was interrupted.

"How dare you, that's Lord Sesshomaru, lord of the western lands. You will show him the proper respect!" Jaken demanded.

"No way! Not when my parents were killed by demons!" Sakura cried. Huh? Her and Rin's parents were killed by demons? No wonder she disliked demons.

[Remus]

"They we're killed by demons but they were not killed by this demon." Sesshomaru was starting to get slightly irritated by this woman. If she were not Rin's sister he might have already handled the situation in an entirely different manner. Instead he turned to his ward in hopes that she could help with the matter in a way he couldn't.

"Rin, this is your sister. The only family you have left in this world. I would not blame you if you wanted to go back to living with her instead of this one." The words hurt Sesshomaru to say, but Rin was past the age where she had to make a choice. "It was the wolves who killed your family" he said to the older sister but his eyes never left Rin's. Although he knew he had to let her choose he didn't want to be left with just Jaken for company. Still as Lord of the West he had to remain impartial, stoic and above such emotion. "If you seek revenge look to them for it. If Rin want's to stay with you".. he hesitated for the briefest of moments. .."as it said it is her choice alone to make."

[LadySesshy]

"Sakura," Rin started. So, the sister's name was Sakura huh? "Lord Sesshomaru brought me back to life when I was killed by wolves. He used the tenseiga which has the power to bring back the dead."

"Tenseiga?" Sakura questioned.

"Fine, if you insist on traveling with him I guess I have no choice but to come with you," Sakura sighed.

She was about to turn and tell Sesshomaru her choice when there was a noise from the sky. "Duck and cover at once!" Jaken cried.

"Don't tell me what to do!" Sakura cried, not realizing the danger. A demon flew down and grabbed her. She ended up dropping her bow as it begun carrying her off.

Rin cried out. "Sakura!"

[Remus]

Sesshomaru opened his mouth about to admonish Sakura when he heard the demon cry from above him. Looking up he was just in time to see the massive bird demon grab Sakura in it's talons and fly away with her.
'more problems' he thought to himself. He quickly turned to Rin

"Stay here with Jaken." he told her. "Jaken protect Rin, If any of it's friends decide they want to play too...handle them" He turned back and chased after the demon. It may have wings, but that didn't mean it was faster than one such as he. He leaped into the air and with one great slash of his claws rent one of the demon's wings clean off. With a startled cry of pain the demon dropped the girl and plummeted to the ground. Sesshomaru quickly grabbed Sakura and pulled her against his body as he slowed his descent and lightly touched the ground. Holding her in his arms for a moment, his eyes briefly flickered and met hers. For a moment he saw something in them, something he could not believe he was seeing, but he dismissed it just as quick as he set her gently down on her feet. The demon crashed a few feet behind them, twitching and bleeding slowly to death.

"If you are to come with us, you need to be more wary of your surroundings. There will be times where I am not around. It is in those times that Rin will need you as her big sister to protect her. Jaken has proven to be of aide but in most situations he can be quite useless. It would be good for Rin to have you around. If you think you can keep up, you can come." He whirled around suddenly walking away from the girl, not wanting to look at her in that moment. What was it about her that brought that sudden flicker of emotion in him? It felt so much alike to when he had first brought Rin back to life. Though somehow it felt different...it felt strange.

But before he could get far there was a scream. It was Rin's voice. "Ah! Sister wake up please!" How could Sesshomaru had missed that? When the demon grabbed her it had dug its claws straight through her body and now she was laying, dead on the ground. The child looked up at Sesshomaru, tears in her eyes and begged him to bring Sakura back to life.

[Remus]

Sesshomaru whirled around again smelling blood and hearing Rin's scream. He saw the girl, Sakura lying on the ground in a pool of her own blood. He sensed Rin's pain, knew the only way to calm the girl was to grant her wish and use the power of tenseiga once more. He could feel the blade calling him for it's use as it did for Rin. Drawing it slowly the demons of the underworld already materialized in front of his eyes trying to take the girl's soul with him. He slashed at them and as they dissipated into the air he knelt down, once more cradling the girl close to him, he listened to her heartbeat.

"She's alive." he whispered his eyes traveling from her to Rin. "She should wake up very soon now." He wondered how he could have missed such obvious wounds. He made a mental note to be more watchful of Rin, of both of them in the future. Such mistakes could not be made again. Yet for some reason, unlike with Rin, he did not let the girl go. There was something special about this one, and he was going to find out what it was.

Sakura opened her eyes and stared up into Sesshomaru's golden ones. "You saved my life. After I was so hateful to you. Thank you. I was wrong about you Sesshomaru. You're not like other demons I've met before You're kind."

"Sister you're alive," Rin gasped. She leaned down and hugged her sister who hugged back.

[Remus]

"I want Rin to be happy." Sesshomaru murmured in response. "That is all" as he regained his stoic composure. He turned to Jaken, giving the two sisters a moment alone in their reunion. The little toad was staring at him in disbelief. Did the great lord Sesshomaru once again use Tenseiga to save a mere human?

"m'lord are we r-really taking yet a-another human with u-us?" He stammered. A glare was all he received in response and the toad knew not to question the demon further. "Prepare Ah-Un so they can ride together. We should leave immediately."

[LadySesshy]

"And what's wrong with that?" Sakura questioned Jaken as she got up. "I should warn you, toad. Don't make me angry or I will hurt you." Sakura sounded scary. Jaken nodded and backed away in fear of her. He'd need to be careful what he said around her. Sakura had the strength of a demon and could fight like one too. "I'm not Midoriko's descendant for nothing you know." Midoriko? The legendary Priestess that turned her soul into the shikon jewel? Sakura and Rin are related to HER!? No wonder Sakura was so strong.

Unknown to her there was a saimoysho nearby listening to every word she said. That meant Naraku had just heard her.

"Kagura! Bring me this Sakura. She's related to Midoriko. I think I could force her to make me another shikon jewel. Then I won't have to keep fixing up the old one," said Naraku. Kagura had no choice but to obey. After all, Naraku held her heart.

[Remus]

Sesshomaru ignored the toad who was now hiding behind his leg. "Midoriko?" he asked, this time unable to hide his shock. "How is it possible? The legends of that priestess mentioned no family and mikos do not have children...." How could this woman be related to the great priestess? How could Rin?

'the arrow' Sesshomaru thought. "That arrow proves that you are great priestess. One of great power. If you are related to Midoriko, you are indeed a great threat to demons around you." especially one little stain named Naraku . "You could be of great use to this Sesshomaru..."

His ears suddenly twitched and he turned his head to the side. Although he could not see it, he could definitely hear the buzzing of one of Naraku's little spies, along with the stench of the demon that came with it. Now would be the perfect opportunity to follow it and find Naraku's newest little hole in the ground. At the same time he could test the mikos new power. But Rin.... he couldn't afford to leave Rin while he and his sister went off to hunt Naraku. That demon was too tricky. He would find a way to send his minions after Rin while he was distracted. Then her sister would come after him for it.

[LadySesshy]

"Hello Lord Sesshomaru, we meet again," said a voice from above. Kagura had managed to hide her scent so Sesshomaru wouldn't smell her coming up. Must be why the saimyosho stuck around, so he wouldn't sense Kagura coming.

"What do you want with milord!?" Jaken yelled.

"No, not him. This time I'm here for the Priestess," said Kagura.

"You're not taking me without a fight!" Sakura started shooting arrows at Kagura.
