Nothing In Stone Yet

So I tried starting a new rp not too long ago, but I've actually decided that it perhaps wasn't the best way to start. If someone would be so kind as to delete the Secrets Lost thread, I would greatly appreciate it.

I have some thoughts on Rps I would love for people to weigh in on and hopefully eventually join.

First off, are there any Bleach, Naruto, FMA fans or otherwise? I've been out of the anime scene for more than a couple years now aside from maybe those three (And I haven't even kept up with them well over the last year), so I don't know much else yet. If there is something someone would like to play, feel free to suggest it to me and I'll get into researching right away.

For any of these, please expect and feel free to join in with Mary-Sues. We still call them that, right? Not many I suppose. Just enough that we are able to have our own flare and create our own original story. Like one of their movies or something, you know? Maybe it would help keep our own personalities from clashing with those already set by the creators of whatever canons we would be playing.

I will be more than happy to respond with some stray ideas I have for any of those three if anyone shows any interest.

I'm not a big Inuyasha fan, as Mini well knows, so that most likely won't happen with me...

I have a few original character ideas away from anime, though I don't think I have a full on RP idea yet.

I have a new character that I'm trying to introduce. I'm thinking the rp might be more focused on dark-arts users. Witches, Warlocks, Sorcery, whatever. Maybe the occasional monster (vampires, werewolves, etc) But being in a modern setting, those might be less common.

Another rp idea was very Naruto-esque. More westernized. I'm fascinated by the idea of Knighthood. If you think about it, Naruto might even be inspired by a similar hierarchy. Students in the academy would be Pages, Genin Squires, Chuunin Knights. Jonin maybe a commander of sorts or some Marshal, and then obviously Hokage the Grandmaster. Anyway, obviously the idea would follow students on their journey to becoming nights.

I'd love to play my fox, but Cernan has seemed to be off the grid for some time so there's no real counterpart for him there...

Anyway, I'm obviously a big fan or fantasy/sci-fi/anime so anyone wanting to start an rp, drop me a line. I would love to hear some ideas, work on a plot with someone, start up a big project. Could be fun, right?

Oh, Also-- HUGE fan of Pokémon. Would SO do a Pokemon rp with someone. Can't get enough of the games. Not necessarily a huge fan of the anime, but the games are awesome.

Sorry we didn't join up with the Secrets Lost RP quicker but I'll go ahead an remove it if you really want it gone. I really haven't had much time to keep up on anime's myself but still do like the settings they proved for RPs (though I like to stay more away from canon since I'm not that good at emulating specific chars XD )

I like your idea for the westernized Naruto plot, could be fun and very much open to everyone. I'll think about how we would be able to bring that one about and if I get some idea's I'll post'em here or PM you depending. I'm at work right now (shhh) so I can't do much on it atm but I'll see if I can come up with something tonight.

Well I guess I can't lie, that did kind of have a little to do with the decision. Honestly though, looking back, I felt like this wasn't the best start for this character anyways and I'm just looking to completely re-roll his introduction.

AS for my rp idea, I have tried it before but I think I just let it get way away from me and I need to organize my thoughts a little better this time around. Assistance from other players would be great.

Yeah, I think it would be a good idea to have the setting pretty well defined before launching that kinda rp. I've been thinking about things like having weapons/armor/powers that players can mix and match from. I'll keep thinkin about it for now and I'm still interested in getting this RP goin.

I've always been a little inspired by the idea of Knighthood.

As far as the RP is concerned, my biggest decision is where to start. I've tried to start way at the beginning, because that seems to be the most logical starting point. After the flop, I'm not so sure anymore it is.

Obviously there will have to be an extensive backstory. I guess Naruto never started at the beginning of their academy either, did they? And yet eventually it's all pretty well explained.

So instead of being Pages in an academy, I'm thinking like Naruto, the rp will probably start Just before or when they become Squires. Instead of one Squire under one Knight though it might be a few.

Like I said, obvious similarities. Almost a direct rip, but I have to wonder if the creator of Naruto wasn't inspired as well.

Abilities yes, but those tend to get out of hand if you're not careful. I'm not saying no badasses, but maybe there should be a little structure to their badassness. Some sort of internal, aetherial fuel source that allows for extraordinary, para/superhuman feats. Increased strength and speed, yada yada. Kinda like chi, but maybe again a more westernized label.

There will be magic, but it should be rare. Used by specific people with the talent. Not by Knights(In general). It will work differently than a Knight's form of power, and there should be obvious advantages and disadvantages to either. They will probably be both inferior and superior to each other, or someone more talented in one than someone in the other would be more of a threat to the said... user... I'm tripping myself up. Lol

The obvious default weapon choice should be a blade. A sword. Some tools. That's what will be taught by the academy, anyway. Oh and boxing or some other sort of hand to hand self defense.

Plots should be short at first. Clear, concise goals of each thread. Just to get it going and to see how everyone likes playing in it. We'll need to set up a secondary cast, too. People in the Hierarchy that would appear off and on to maintain the presence of an actual chain of command that everyone has to answer to... or not answer to...

More than anything, I just want to establish structure. Hopefully that word doesn't scare anyone off...
