Shippo is an orphaned young fox demon whose father was killed by the Thunder Brothers, Hiten and Manten, and the first character in the story to join InuYasha and Kagome in their travels as a group. After his father is killed by the Thunder Brothers, Shippo attempts to steal the Shikon Jewel from Kagome and InuYasha, with the intent to become stronger and avenge his father's death. Though his plans fails, Kagome and InuYasha aid him in fulfilling his revenge after hearing his story. Shippo appears as a young boy with fox legs, feet, ears, and a tail. He tends to be naively observant and often makes pointed and cheeky comments directed towards InuYasha, earning him a retaliatory bonk on the head. InuYasha and Kagome serve as older sibling figures to Shippo. Due to his size, Shippo is often seen riding on Kirara or the shoulders of others.

Shape-Shifting

Shippo has the ability to shape-shift into many different forms, but his forms are temporary, often incomplete and ineffective, and he is usually given away by his telltale tail.

Transformations

A notable ability of Shippo is his transformations into a large pink balloon or a donkey form with the ability to fly. Usually using this form if InuYasha isn't around or Kagome has no other means of transportation he allows Kagome to ride on him, however he is only able to carry her in this form for a limited time as in reality no matter how large in size he get's his strength is limited due to his small stature.

Toys

A notable move that Shippo uses is using Toys as weapons against his foes while using his illusionary magic in the process, such as his giant spinning top attack where Shippo throws a spinning top which not only grows in size, but grows in weight as well, causing about any weak demon or human to collapse from the weight, however the fact is that it is a complete illusion created from Shippo and in reality the giant spinning top was always and has been in it's normal size.

Multiply

Shippo uses another form off attack with the help of his illusions which is the ability to multiply objects, such as what appears to be crying mushrooms or even himself.

Fox Fire Magic

A very notable attack Shippo uses is his Fox Fire Magic that he was taught to him probably by his father or possibly he was able to know how to use it because of his bloodline. Shippo's Fox Fire seems to be powerful flames that are stronger than normal fire, but due to his inexperience with it, it still is considered weak. Possibly when he is able to harness the power more effectively he might be able to use it as a form of barrier as seen when his father's pelt protected Shippo and Kagome from Hiten's lightning attack or possibly it was only a one time event, a sort of 'goodbye' gift from his father.
