Kage blinked, and a little smile creeped across his face. She had just picked the one question, he hoped he had time to get ready to answer. But she chose that one first, and so be it. He look a deep breath, and shut his eyes for a minute. Reliving the delicate memories of the little girl, and his wife. Their smiles so big, he still felt like these memories weren't his. He pursed his lips, and then opening his eyes to her. He released them, and spoke in a soft yet slightly painful tone. " I will not say I remember the memories that visit me, for I feel they are not mine." He sighed, this was going to be a hard conversation to spill out to her. But he promised he would go first, and it was time he shared with someone. "Before this life, my birth mother had given me the name Hachirou. There are only a few short memories of her, but I have many of...." he paused, to claim what he was to say next. He hoped she wouldn't react badly, he didn't own such things anymore. "Well, many of my wife and daughter." he was focused right on her eyes, showing no sadness met him with saying the word wife. "My wife's name was Cho, and my daughters was...." he paused again, the vision of the little girl dancing in his head. "Her name was Aria, she was seven when I died." even though he had tried to hold his composer, a single tear met and left his right eye. "My wife called me Akio, but I refuse to use either name. I am not that man any more!" this last statement seemed to bring him a little bit of anger, but it was the last memory he had that caused this. He remembered the day he died, it took him over 200 years. But it came to him when he visited the village where he used to live, and the death of the little girl right before he died. "The memories of the little girl haunt me the most, she was so beautiful, and did not deserve to die. She had long black hair, like her mother's. Pudgy cheeks, that were always flush. A smile that could melt the snow, and her eyes were enough to sweep the most bravest of men off their feet." he stopped, he had said enough. He wanted to know if she wanted to hear more. There was much more, but he wanted her to have a chance to voice her thoughts. Or see if this last bit of detail was too much for her, it had been a long day.

He had lived long before she was alive, the man he was, the world he had left behind, it wasn't really his. Even if it were, Kagirinai did not mind not being the first, though in a way she also felt like she was, for Kage was not this Akio, he was simply Kage. She turned onto her side to face him more easily, quite interested in the tale that made him into the demon he was. There was no hint of jealousy, or anger, in fact she did not know how to be jealous even if she felt such an emotion. Her piercing silver eyes held a sparkling sense of child like curiosity, and this time it was her turn to do a little snuggling which even amazed her. Snuggling close, she rested her head on his shoulder and nodded softly, letting him know he could continue. "Many times the young are unjustly ripped from this world, and sadly not always can something be done to stop it." She said softly, not having much else to say, but instead enjoyed the fact that she was getting to know parts of Kage he probably never shared before.

Kage relaxed as she snuggled closer to him, and her words comforted him in continuing. "There are memories of farming, and working hard in the fields. Then coming home in the evenings to be greeted by Aria, and find Cho tending to the meal or quietly humming to herself." He's breathing was shallow a little, like it was making him depressed to talk about them. "Aria used to hum, it is a tune that I have known for ages. All because of her, it's what I have hummed to you..." He was really being truthful, and opening up. He felt it was the right thing to do, seeings how he wanted to hold nothing back with his new found mate. "There is one, where Cho was angry. She wanted another child, but... Akio wasn't so keen on he idea." he blinked, the thought of children to him now had never even crossed his mind. Though he had never believed he would find a mate, and one as pretty as she who lay so close to him. "There are many of Aria dancing, and her smile. And then, my last mortal memory. I remember the day I died..." his tone had gone more serious, it was one he relived whenever he was sad. A strange time, but it reminded him that things were once so harsh. "A spider demons, those of which I could easily destroy now, attacked the little village of twenty or less villagers. The men fought them off, but little by little they took over. Cho found death first, that days before she had announce she was with child again. Akio hid Aria and tried to fight. But in the end, the presious little girl died in her fathers arms. Mad with grief, he fought and became consumed with hate and anger. Taking down many of their numbers, he lost his life when victory was almost achieved. None survived in the end, and the demons moved on to another village." Kage had closed his eyes, and had a uncomfortable look on his face. He hated this memory, the look on Aria's face as she died in her daddy's arms. This was not acceptable, he had cried the first time the memory came back to him. The little girl whom he wished had lived, and warmed the world with her smile. Kage had wrapped his arms around Kagirinai, and quietly shed tears. This was one memory he would never grow numb too, and it was what it was.

How heartbreaking that must have been, to have fought so hard, but to lose everything, even an unborn child. His story struck her heart in such a way, and when she felt him silently crying she simply wrapped and arm around him and lifted her head. While she never had a child of her own, she knew the loss of everything so dear, even if you became someone new. He had suffered so much alone, thier istuations were different of hauntingly familiar, except she survived. Kagirinai decided it was her turn to help him feel better, to show him that she truly cared beyond mere words. His firm grip around her was so soothing, and gave her the nerve to reach her face close to his, closing her eyes, she gently pressed her cheek against his, it was an intimate and caring motion. Her hand gently reached up and wiped away the tears on his other cheek, using only her index and middle fingers. She stayed like that for a while, and hummed a tune she remebered a woman singing of her beloved while she did chores for the day., it was soft, soothing, and warming to the heart. Kagirinai never sang or hummed very often, but her naturally soft voice gave it an enchanting tune.
Softly she began to speak, opening up about this subject for the first time, ever, to anyone. "..There's a reason why I know so much about plants and healing with them. I was born to a family of healers, of all things. While demons who were greviously wounded were their main visitors, word of their talents grew and spread even to the surrounding villages, we eventually began getting a mixed company of humans and demons who needed help. Many mortals braved the dangerous mountain paths for the medicine so we never turned them away." She said softly, trying to help move his thoughts away from such a painful subject. "The tension between both races was always there, but neither struck at each other, but you could just feel the animosity between the villagers and the visiting demons. I hated it, while i would have dreamed to fly away then, I did not have wings, for my demon side had yet to really awaken. So i would wander off into the forest alone to explore like always." Her heart sank as the images of that night began to creep back into her mind, naturally she stiffened. "I imagine this group had been brought word of my family's dealings with humans, the fact that they helped the mortals, I think infuriated them... I had A mother, father, and a baby sister, all three were ripped away from me one night. I was to hide below the floorborads in the storage space with the baby, but my mother never got a chance to give her to me." She said softly as the images and sounds rolled through her head. "I reember the baby crying one moment, then nothing... eventaully all the screaming and pleading stopped, my parents, i think tried to fight them, but spending so many years in peace, they had lost an edge. It cost them their lives." sHe whispered more softly, almost as if she wanted it to all go away. "By dawn the demons were gone, and i could barely recognize the bodies of my family, the baby... had it the worst, torn to shreds.... i just remeber spending the next few nights cowering in the house, afraid to go to far, I was only six, so there wasn't a whole lot I could do against demons like that.." She trailed off, her eyes were wide open now, not wanting to close them, the images in her head were too much to deal with right now.

Kage was silent, what suffering, and it easy to understand why she was the ways she was. It was only natural to see something like that, when you were the only survivor. His imagination had followed along as she spoke, and tears were also being shed for her. She who meant so much to him now, and in such a short period of time. Why did life have to been like this, why? Shaking that weak human thought from his head, Kage held his love closer to him. He stopped his tears, and smiled softly to her. "As much as we both have suffered, something or someone must be smiling down on us. I believe there was a reason I found you, and a reason why you can do what you do to me!" Even though the statement was meant to be romantic, he couldn't feel like it was a little insensitive. He had hoped to one day help her get past, during the battle it was obvious that the memories still caused her great pain. Why shouldn't they, that is all she has had from a young age to survive. To feed her journey, and he wished he could have known her back them. Saved her family, and watched her as she grew. He believed the end result would have been the same, he still would have been drawn to her presence. "I would, if I could. I would have saved you and your family from the horrible fate, you were so young to have to go through that." He wondered to himself, where could he have been when this had happened to her? Knowing him, probably with some human women, doing as he pleased. Years ago though, if he had heard of such a situation happening, he wouldn't have blinked an eye. He would have gone on with him business, and forgot he had even heard anything. This thought made him sad, and slightly disgusted with himself. "Tell me love, what is your next course?" He kind of wanted off the subject of pasts for a while. Not giving her enough time to answer, Kage leaned in and locked his lips with hers. Just a little gesture of love, he was in himself not thinking correctly, and was jumping emotions.

His words at first, well to most would indeed sound rather harsh and, almost selfish. Part of her liked that hint of selfishness, the fact he wanted her all to himself so selfishly made her crack a small smile. To feel such deep desire for him, and from him in return melted the frozen parts of her heart that she thought would never open, and seemed to help mend some of the damage from the loss. What she had told him was the base of her story, what all truly transformed her was a mixture of encounters and things she decided on, the scars just laid the foundaition. As he tried to move on the subject, asking her what was next, she didn't even get a chance to finish all of her thought process before Kagirinai suddenly felt Kage's warm breath, skin, and lips once more. Taking her by surprsie she gave him a shocked expression before quickly relaxing and returning the kiss, gently pulling away and laughing. "You really make it hard for me to get my tohughts going when you od that... I can't really think of anything besides you when you kiss me." She admittied with a slightly shy expression, her cheeks turning a light pink as she looked away. trying to gather herself a little and some of her thoughts, she wasn't use to being so fragile and open it was strange, even if it was with Kage.
What sould she do now? She wanted to race off in search of her next target. However she knew they would probably only grow more intense in battle and she needed to get stronger, for that she had to fight, to push her boundaries further, to overcome her weakness within and better protect her mind. She was not going to let herself become a victim again. Her shy expression changed to one of deep thought, "I need to get stronger, I want to rush off tiwards the next one, to put this all behind me. First I must become stronger though, and I will." She said with a determined tone in her soft voice as she sat up. Kagirinai tucked some hair behind her head and looked back at Kage and gave him a small loving smile. "This must be done first, where we should go I honestly don't know."

"I will follow wherever you go, but I must ask. How do you my dear intend to gain strength?" this was a simple question, he had never put much thought into gaining strength. Humans practice their arts, and so do some demons. But how would she do so, he felt naive to her quest of strength. He smiled, biting his lip. Then quickly giving her a peck on her lips, he was playing around with her. He liked the fact that he could do this with her, she was new. And in so he wanted to enjoy her, almost feeling she might be gone soon or something. He hoped she would take his child teasing without fuss, because that would only make him do it more. In a way he wanted her to fight, but he knew there would be a time she would not be in such loving spirits. He let himself get away sometimes, even with the human girls, and they would not take his toying so easily. He wondered how she would react to his gropes, and other ways he played. This relationship so new, it was a mystery how it would progress. But there was more to him then a quick talking, romantic, with a evil demonic side. Who loved women, and getting what he wanted. This was going to be a good start to what he would call his new life, with the beautiful Kagirinai! "Will you be my mate Ningyō?" he thought himseld sly, he had started slithering his way out of this romantic vibe. Into his comedic one, and his smile grew after calling her doll.
(*Ningyō = Doll)

"Fighting, and practicing my skills, I know no other way.." His second question caught Kagirinai off guard though she did not show it. She didn't even know the first thing of being someone's mate, these strong emotions for Kage were so new to her as it was. Looking down at her feet that curled and uncurled in the cool grass. She thought silently for a moment. She already treasured him so dearly but part of her feared such a deep bond that mates were suppose to have, she wasn't sure if she lost him that she would be able to pick up the pieces. "I know what A mate is... but I don't know how to be one, I don't know if I ever could. I'm still so lost in all these new emotions." She said softly, not sure if she could look at him. "I'm not sure how to process any of these emotions, I'm so deeply confused by them." She said softly hoping He understood she wasn't rejecting his offer, she just needed time to adjust to these emotions before delving into something else completely new.
"Give me a little more time to adjust and I will gladly accept being your mate." A sense of uncertainty, fear, and unease washed over her, so much at once was starting to take it's toll on poor Kagirinai. to let someone so deeply into who she was, it was unlike her, it scared her. Kagirinai could feel herself feeling particularly fragile again, surely he wouldn't follow her everywhere. The unbelievable desire for revenge would often consume her, and he would witness such a wild side of her, that she might even struggle to see him as an ally, as Kage. She hugged her knees up to her chest, the thought of him leaving, or even trying to hurt him brought an unwanted wash of pain and terror. "I.... am not always this gentle creature, sometimes, everything I've been through will come back in waves, and I will lose sight of everything. I become unruly and truly wild... Seeing everyone as a potential enemy.. I don't think I would forgive myself if I attacked you.." All of this, it was true and part of the reason for her apprehension, she would hate herself for turning on him, the years of torment had done something deeply damaging to her mentality in multiple ways, this was just another one of them. "I am scared...." She finally admitted as she felt herself tremble slightly.

"I understand, being someone's mate has to be learned. I don't believe anyone is born with the knowledge, it's a journey of learning more of yourself. But with someone there with you to learn, and to love." He knew how she felt, he also understood her fear of hurting him. This couldn't be avoided, she was broken just like him, and with her youth. It was only natural to still not have control over things, and to no know yourself in ways. He wanted to grow in this with her, he knew himself, but didn't always trust himself either. In his world, he was three men in one. This was a hard thing to cope with, but he hoped and it seemed so. That she would except this, and he loved her even more for it. "I know, I myself am scared. I love you more for being honest with me, and I promise to respect you in the moments of loss of self control. Just as I would hope you would give me understanding, when I am not myself, as I intend to be. Do you know what I mean my dear?" He had seen her tremble a little, and he continued to hold her. Trying to give her comfort, and warmth of heart. "I will go at what ever pace you want, I long to hold you, and kiss your lips. I want you to want this from me, I want you to feel like you can rely on me. Just name it, and I will follow your wish. I will do as you ask, and when you decide you are ready to answer my question. I will still be here, no matter what. Even if you ask me to leave, and never see you again. I will honor your wish! I might stalk you, but you wouldn't see me." Kage laughed a little, he was trying to be silly to break up his tense words. It was his own way, but he knew she would hear his truth through all the confession. He was telling her he would commit to her, and be there for her. He was a lost man, who believed he had found the women that would save him from a life of loneliness. No matter what, he would keep his word. She was right, there was a lot that he still didn't know. The same went for him, and he hoped she would love him, all of him just the same. He knew he would never hurt her on purpose, and she might be the only on to bring him back from all the darkness he suffered in. "I know, I want to be your mate. And in this, until you are sure on your answer. I will not faultier, and will remain with you!" His tone through out all of this never changed, it was soft, like a lover whispering to his true love. He meant all of it, and he would keep to it. He stayed silent, waiting to hear if she excepted his words. She had no answer to give, just to except he would stay by her. That he understood her concern, and that he would let her set the pace. She was the leader in the relationship, he was just to crazy man who loved her more then anything. (OMG! Did that just flow out of me!? Sorry, I guess being away helped!)

"Of course, in fact when I see the other sides of you, I am not afraid. It just makes me all that more curious about you." Kagirinai could feel him touch her, at first she stiffened, then slowly she relaxed. All of this was good for her, to share so openly, to know he desired her so much, to be with her, to accept her wildness, as she accepted every side of him that she had seen thus far. "I had never given a mate or family much thought so it's a shock to me. Not a bad shock though.." She looked at him and smiled softly before getting up. "For now, let's play a game, I like it when we chase each other, allows me to stop thinking and just relax. So how about a game of tag?" She laughed softly, getting up the grass gave a nice cushion beneath her feet that were still a little sore from the burning they had sufferent from the fight earlier. Her wings fluffed out a bit, a feather falling to the ground as Kagirinai straightened her posture. Her Soft silver gaze looked back at him, hoping he would agree, she loved the cat and mouse like game, and the way he was always so confident about it.
"I'll make you a deal, if you win, you can kiss me as much as you want. If I win... show me something about you I have yet to see?" She cracked a curious smile of her pale, fragile looking lips. The more se learned about him the more she felt heself melting under his mysterious charm that she just couldn't get enough of. She was hoping to win this little game, if not, she wouldn't mind the kissing either.

Kage smiled, and nodded in agreement. He would love to play, this game she called tag. This would be interesting, but he would be determined to win. So he could kiss her beautiful lips whenever he wanted. He slowly got to his feet, and crossed his arms as he studied her. "Sounds like fun, but I only have two conditions. I want to make this interesting, one, no flying or fading. Sound like a deal? Just our wits and running power! For the second condition, I want to give you a head start, so you can hide. I enjoy chasing, but I want to follow your scent to find you. It something I enjoy." It was what you can call an animal thing, maybe it was the demon in him. But it would be erotic to him, almost like an aphrodisiac to know she was hiding from him. To smell her out like a frightened animal, a wolf hunting it's pray. He hoped this wouldn't freak her out, but she wanted him to be honest. His smile showed a soft twitch, almost like he was over excited. And he was going to grin like a monster, but he was fighting it.

Nodding and waving her hand her wings practically vanished from view. To be chased, and hunted, part of it was so thrilling to her it made her almost squirm with excitement. "alright, this will be fun." she laughed happily, her mood had changed as she focused on something else. leaning up and giving him a quick kiss on the lips she laughed softly, "Big bad hunter wants the thrill of finding me... I will do my best to make it a challenge." she laughed before darting off a ways down the river and taking a leap, landing on a large bounder in the middle of the large flow of water, before vanishing into the forest. Her heart raced as she weaved and darted through the trees, circling and rounding about in a few areas to throw him off a bit. stopping in the center of a small field surrounded by trees, she juped into the air and landed gracefully on the thick branch and continued to weave through the trees above, in a complex, mixutre of patterns before heading off east and into a new area which she dropped down. Putting a hand on a tree she purposely wiped her scent on all of the trees on the small circle before leading a trail off, she made her way down into a dark cavern that was pitch black the the human eye, her silver eyes began to glow in the darkness as she found a tight recess in the back of the cave to hide in. Her small frame allowed her to wiggle into the small area. There was an escape hole that was small, and led back out into the forest, she would crawl through it and give him the chase he seemed to enojy so much. Kagirinai would not make his victory an easy one.

Kage tasted her kiss before his beloved took off, he closed his eyes and let her get her lead. His heart began to beat faster than normal, and his adrenaline kicked in. He would enjoy this, and he set attention on her scent. He would go full beast mode in this chase, he would make sure to make this fun not only for him but for her. After a few moments, he took off. Running like he had wings on his feet, leaving a trail as he went. He started following her scent down the river, he went a little to far and turned around finding himself at the boulder in the middle of the river. He stopped, and listened to the sounds around him. He could smell a light hint of her toward the forest, so he continued on in that direction. He didn't fear time in this chase, sooner or later he would come upon her. He slowly followed her trail through the trees, smiling as he made his way. It didn't take him very long for him to realize she had went around a few times, he darted away from her trail. To refresh his senses, and noticed it picked back up east from his current location. Meeting the new set of trees, he remained in this area for a while. Then found his way to the opening to the cavern, he too could see in the dark. And slowly entered the cave, not making a sound, he could smell her. He stopped, just before moving to where she was hiding. Then darted out of the cave, and seemed to disappear. He was sure she had to of found a way to escape, and he would find it. Quietly looking around the back part of the many rocks surrounding the cave, he seen it. Kneeling beside it, he leaned against the rock that hid it.
"One, Two, Three...." Kage began counting, loud enough that she could hear him on the outside of the cave. He was going to let her run, and find a better spot. With her scent mixed around the area, it was going to be harder for him to find her this time. Until she moved to another area, and he wanted to continue this hunt. "Seven, Eight, Nine..." he was going to count till twenty so she could escape.

Not making a sound she darted out of the entrance, hearing his voice form the back, she made her way into the area where her scent was the strongest, and made it even stronger moving through the spots she had already travelled only making her scent more potent and hrder to pick her out. This was exhiirating, sending chills of excitement down her spine, normally she owuld be terrified, but with him she held no true fear, uncertainty at times but never fear. She would purposfully leave loose strands of her hair going off in one direction while using the treetops to trail back, well within the area filled with her scent. It had become so well layered that it was hard to tell which way she had run around in.
She found a large tree, already covered in her scent, there was a hollow hidden behind the thick bush, squeazing behind it she made sure none of her clothes left and pieces on the plant, any evidence that she had found the hole was not evident. The inside seemed to hollow out to another hole further up, so there was another escape route and a decent place to hide, as long as he didn't think to look from above. her time was short so she grew silent and deathly still, listening, paying attnetion to every footstep he made, it was light and very difficult to make out, just liek a true hunter. Taking a silent breath she forced her racing heart to try and slow down, to her it was beating too loud, she wanted to make him work on finding her, to give him more of a challenge.

Once Kage had finished counting, he opened his eyes. She had darted quickly, he had heard her heart beat. She was enjoying this as much as he was, and so he walked back toward the front of the cave. Cracking his neck, he stood there. Just listening, and smelling the air. She had gone back, so he darted in that direction. He spend some time, noticing she had tried to make it harder for him. He liked that she was trying, it made him get more excited. He struggled for a little while, she had done well in cloaking her trail with her own scent. He laughed to himself, he was falling more and more in love with her. She was amazing, and was the true mate he was looking for. If she would play this game with him often, he was never get bored of their time together. He walked under the trees, just following. It would take him longer, with her mastery of hiding this time. He found his way to the tree she was hiding in, but didn't realize he had found her. He leaned against it, and suddenly noticed a familiar heart beat. It was quiet, and ever slowing. But it was her's, and with that he jumped into the air. Passing the hollow as he ascended, and she had to have seen his smile. He didn't quickly return to where she was, he landed on a branch. He was going to watch her flee, and then chase her down like the wolf he was.
